Borrowing from the tabletop theory, for me happiness comes from the harmony of balance between my spiritual life, physical needs, mental stimuli, and emotional stability. If all four needs are being fulfilled, then I can say that I am happy. If one happens to surpass the other or one leg out of the table is slightly shorter than the others, then it leads to an imbalanced life, and eventually the things sitting on my table will begin to topple over.

Freedom outside of conformity. Strengthen your strengths, not your weaknesses. Focus on how God created you, not on how you want to create yourself to be in this world. I keep this mental picture in my mind of a zebra trying to be a monkey, or an orange growing on an apple tree. Looks silly doesn't it? Embrace your individuality. God purposely created us to be incomplete beings so that we can complete each other. If we excelled at everything we ever tried to accomplish, why would we ever need each other? Why would we need God? I once ran into a quote that said "life is not about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself." This sounds more like an extremist point of view. If life was all up to us, I think it would be easy for me to say that my life is one huge mistake after another. I think life is more about identifying yourself first, and then building upon what God gave us naturally. We live in a competitive world where people tell us to zero in on what we're not good at, but I learned early on in life that there are things that no matter how hard I try to beat into myself, that I will never excel in. Even so, I spent years of regret comparing my life to other people, thinking that if I had only tried harder I could have accomplished this and that, only to run into myself again and again. Run towards yourself, not away from yourself. For every weakness, God has placed a strength in you.

People are natural investors. You invest in something initially thinking you want some kind of return. There's a level of expectation. We even expect that what we invest on, we'll gain back two fold, triple fold. What do I invest on? Admittedly, I place my trust too much into people. Trust God, not men, and place your investments in heaven. The things of the earth are finite, they have a beginning and an end. Everything came from dust, and will eventually rot to dust, but the things that God promises to store up in heaven for us are infinite and will give us eternity.

"For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it;
but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."

I love spring ...

"For as the earth bringeth forth her bud,
and as the garden causeth the things
that are sown in it to spring forth;
so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness
and praise to spring forth before all the nations."

Isaiah 61:11
